Emily Moscoso’s dedication to artistic excellence has taken her on a path that spans prestigious orchestras and renowned institutions across the United States. Throughout two seasons with the San Diego Symphony and one season with the Colorado Symphony, Ms. Moscoso's oboe mastery flourished, paving her path to becoming one of Houston’s most sought-after freelance musicians. This persistent determination recently culminated in her appointment as Principal Oboe with the Symphony of Southeast Texas. Her educational foundation spans The Juilliard School and the University of Texas at Austin, where she honed her craft studying with Elaine Douvas, Rebecca Henderson, and Andrew Parker.
Beyond her role as Principal Oboist, Ms. Moscoso's versatility shines through her frequent collaborations with the Houston Symphony, ROCO, the Houston Ballet, the Fort Worth Symphony, the Austin Symphony, and other esteemed local ensembles.
Ms. Moscoso's commitment to her art extends beyond the stage, inspiring young musicians through her mentorship and outreach. She has a thriving private studio, and she dedicates spare time to coaching young artists in the Houston Youth Symphony. Her passion for music guides her comprehensive method of teaching, which aims to develop both rich musical expression and technical proficiency.
